Getting There

All travel and accommodations are handled by JDRF and Wheel & Sprocket. Riders will depart Milwaukee on Saturday, August 23, 2008 and arrive in Edmonton, in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Motor coaches will await the team and depart for The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton where they will stay on Saturday night.

Saturday Night

The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is Edmonton's only Four Diamond-rated luxury hotel! Standing high on the bank overlooking the largest urban parkway in North America, The North Saskatchewan River Valley, The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald's charm and classic elegance have made it Edmonton's place for every occasion since 1915.

At the Saturday night dinner, participants will have the great opportunity to hear from, Dr. Gregory Korbutt , one of the JDRF-funded researchers from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada.

Staying There

On Sunday, August 24th, the team will travel by motorcoach to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (JPL). This resort offers "The Grand Canadian Lodge Experience"…a year-round destination of choice for those seeking outdoor exhilaration and inner peace. For over 80 years, the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge has been providing warm hospitality and fond memories. Their elegant cedar chalets and specialty cabins are arranged in the style of a charming alpine village on the shores of a vivid, blue-green lake, offering marvelous views in every direction. Throughout the years visitors have enjoyed the serenity, seclusion and sophistication that are the hallmarks of this experience. The JPL is thrilled to be hosting this very special event and has gone out of their way to make this charity event a big success!

The team will stay 2 nights at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, located just three and a half hours southwest from the Edmonton. Meals will be provided for during the Canadian Rockies Challenge, including breakfasts, the pre-ride dinner on Friday night and the post-ride celebration Western Style barbecue located on beautiful Trefoil Lake, located just 5 minutes from the Main Lodge (weather dependent).

Staying Fit

Approximately one week before the Ride, bikes will be transported to the Ride site in Jasper National Park. Mechanics will be available on site to make sure everyone's bike is in top shape for the ride on Monday, August 25th.

On Tuesday, August 26th the team will travel via motor coach back to the Edmonton International Airport and return to Milwaukee that day.
